The real things - - - - - - - - the room, the things in the room - - - - - were real. The image on my eye was not quite the same as the image on the paper. Lines. Dots. And this was before I took the Monart classes. Lines representing shadows and textures. Village Voice on a table. Flat paper. Illusion of depth.
